Attitude is Gratitude

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” -Melody Beattie

We all go through life looking for the next best thing to make us happy. It seems like it is never enough and that we always want more. We want a bigger television, a nicer car, a newer house, anything better than what we have, right? What we have is never good enough; we want it all. What we don’t realize is all along we have everything we ever need. We need to know that it is not about having the newest and greatest “things”, it is about loving and being thankful for what we already have. Look over at your children, spouse or friend and tell them right now how much you love them and blessed you feel that they are in your life

. It doesn’t mean that we don’t continue to strive and be motivated to want more, it just means if we never have anything else than we already do, then that is okay. What really matters is true happiness and the way to achieve this is by gratitude.

Gratitude means giving thanks, appreciating the simple pleasures and small blessings that you are given. It means trying to understand that things really do happen for a reason and to remember that even if life does not go the way we plan that there is a greater purpose for all of us. We are all designed to do great things and it is up to us to be motivated and believe in ourselves to do so. Everyday is a miracle and we need to remember how truly blessed we really are with what we have been given. There is always someone out there that will have it easier than you but when times get tough we have to remember that there a lot more people that are struggling much worse yet they are the happiest.

Live each day in the moment and grow with each lesson learned. The more gratitude we give, the more peace and prosperity we will receive. This is a fact. Giving thanks will help you to become a happier and stress free individual, resulting in successful relationships and a healthier mind and body.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Are you truly happy or are you always wishing you had more? 2. When things don’t go your way, do you take a moment and know that there is a greater reason?

3. Do you give thanks everyday for all that you have and accept everything that you don’t have?

Life will not always go the way you want, but those are the times to remember that there is a greater purpose. Each day show gratitude and feel blessed that you are who you are. You can make a decision right this minute to be truly happy and to always show gratitude for who you are and for whatever could happen on your wonderful journey that lies ahead.

My question for you is:

What are you thankful for at this exact moment? Think about it! Your ideas will keep flowing trust me. =-)

If the only prayer you say in your life is ‘thank you,’ that would suffice. – Meister Eckhart
